VPNFast installs a small background service on your PC that handles the VPN connection itself. If that service is not running, the app cannot connect, and Premium locations cannot be loaded.

In most cases, this is fixed by restarting the app:

  1. Close VPNFast completely. Make sure it is not still running in the system tray — right-click the icon and select Exit if it is there.
  2. Open VPNFast again and wait a few seconds for it to start up.

If the message appears again:

  1. Restart your Windows device. This allows Windows to start the background service cleanly.
  2. Check that your antivirus or endpoint protection is not blocking VPNFast. Some security products block background services installed by apps. Add VPNFast to its allowed list and try again.
  3. Make sure you are using the latest version of VPNFast from the Microsoft Store.
  4. If the problem persists, uninstall VPNFast from Settings, Apps, then reinstall it from the Microsoft Store. This re-registers the background service.

On work or school devices, security policy may prevent the service from running at all. If your device is managed by an employer or school, your IT administrator will need to allow VPNFast.

If none of these resolve it, contact support through Settings, then Help and Support, and tell us what you have already tried.
